For most US viewers, Netflix is the best single place to watch K-dramas: it has the largest selection of big-budget Korean series, many exclusive originals, and English subtitles and dubs on day one. If you follow shows airing weekly on Korean TV, add Viki (strong community subtitles in many languages) or Kocowa (broadcast dramas and variety shows from KBS, MBC, and SBS). Disney+, Prime Video, and free services like Tubi fill in the gaps.

Netflix

Netflix has spent more on Korean content than any other foreign streamer, and it shows. Its library mixes Netflix originals with licensed series from Korean cable networks such as tvN and JTBC.

Why it leads: Netflix originals like Squid Game, The Glory, All of Us Are Dead, Weak Hero Class 2, and When Life Gives You Tangerines are exclusive worldwide, and many licensed dramas stream as weekly simulcasts with English subtitles at the same time as the Korean broadcast. Netflix also dubs many Korean shows into English.

Unscripted too: Korean reality and variety originals such as Physical: 100 and Culinary Class Wars have become breakout hits.

Price: After a March 2026 increase, Netflix costs $8.99 a month with ads, $19.99 for Standard, and $26.99 for Premium (CBS News; Netflix plans).

Rakuten Viki

Viki, owned by Japan's Rakuten, is known for fan-powered subtitles: a volunteer community translates shows into dozens of languages, which makes Viki especially useful for viewers who want subtitles in a language other than English.

Catalog strengths: a deep library of older and mid-2010s K-dramas, plus Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Japanese dramas. Some titles are free with ads; the rest require Viki Pass.

Plans: Viki offers a free, ad-supported tier with commercial breaks, locked episodes, and lower video quality, plus paid Viki Pass tiers (Standard and Plus) that remove ads and unlock more titles. Viki began rolling out Viki Pass price changes in some countries starting November 19, 2024 (Viki Help Center), and it shows current pricing for your country only at viki.com/pass. Kocowa

Kocowa is run by Wavve Americas, a company backed by Korea's three big broadcasters, KBS, MBC, and SBS, along with SK Telecom. That makes it the main US home for broadcast network dramas and, especially, Korean variety shows such as Running Man.

Plans: On April 20, 2026, Kocowa+ raised US prices by $1 a month and $10 a year and added 3- and 6-month options (Kocowa Help Center). Current US prices:

Subscribers who signed up before April 20, 2026 keep their old price while their subscription stays active. Kocowa's notice does not spell out what separates Basic from Premium, so compare features at checkout [VERIFY tier differences]. Kocowa is also sold as an add-on channel on Prime Video in some markets, including the UK since September 2025 (Business Wire); check Prime Video Channels in the US [VERIFY].

Subtitle timing: Kocowa has long advertised new episodes with English subtitles within about six hours of the Korean broadcast for paying subscribers, with free, ad-supported viewers waiting about a day (Wikipedia summary) [VERIFY current promise on Kocowa's site]. Subtitles are also offered in Spanish and Portuguese.

Industry note: South Korea's Fair Trade Commission conditionally approved a merger of Wavve and rival service TVING in June 2025, requiring both to hold subscription prices through the end of 2026 (Wikipedia summary) [VERIFY completion status]. That could eventually change what Kocowa carries in the US.

Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV, and HBO Max

Disney+ (and Hulu content)

Disney+ has commissioned a steady run of Korean originals, including the superhero series Moving [VERIFY 2026 slate]. Hulu programming also appears inside the Disney+ app for bundle subscribers (Variety), which adds some licensed Korean titles [VERIFY specific titles].

Prime Video

Prime Video's own Korean library is modest and rotates often. Its value for K-drama fans is mostly the add-on channel store, where services such as Kocowa or Viki Pass may be available [VERIFY US channel lineup].

Apple TV

Apple's service, renamed from Apple TV+ to Apple TV in October 2025 (Deadline) and now $14.99 a month for new subscribers (9to5Mac), has a small number of high-end Korean-language series, most notably Pachinko and Dr. Brain [VERIFY].

Skip unofficial K-drama streaming sites. They are unsafe and do not pay the people who make these shows.

Subtitles: what "same day" really means

• Netflix simulcasts release English subtitles at the same time as the Korean broadcast, usually a Saturday or Sunday morning in US time zones for weekend dramas.
• Viki subtitles build up over hours as volunteers work; the English track often finishes first.
• Kocowa focuses on fast English subtitles for its broadcast partners' shows, roughly six hours after broadcast on paid plans.
