Documentation review, not hands-on product testing. Netflix help requires country context; profile-transfer, extra-member, partner-billing, and household options can vary by country. Applies only where Netflix offers the selected transfer destination; partner packages, third-party billing, extra-member eligibility, and plan entitlements require live account confirmation.

Netflix Profile Transfer is a defined account tool, not a manual copy-and-paste job. Netflix currently documents transfers to a new account, an existing account, or an extra-member slot. Eligibility and the effect on the original profile differ by destination, so decide the destination before beginning (Netflix Help).
This guide summarizes that documented workflow. It does not bypass Netflix Household rules or promise that every billing arrangement is eligible in every country.
Check that the profile can move
Read the live eligibility list for the destination you chose; do not assume a Kids, protected, primary, or extra-member profile qualifies. If the workflow requires changing a protective setting, understand why and get the profile user’s agreement first.
Make a handoff note with the source profile, intended recipient, destination type, and person responsible for payment. Use account nicknames, not passwords. Confirm the choices with the people involved. Recognizing an avatar does not establish whose viewing history it is or authorize moving it.
Back up the state you care about
Before changing anything, review and download the profile’s viewing activity. Netflix provides a “Download all” CSV from the profile’s Viewing activity page (Netflix viewing activity). Keep a short note of the next episode for active series, because an activity file and a transferred Continue Watching state answer different questions.
The backup is a recovery aid, not an import guarantee. For a fuller method, follow Portable watch history.
Choose new, existing, or extra-member destination
Follow the current official instructions for your destination. Read the partner-billing section before changing anything. If the screen offers a new account when you intended an existing one, stop and resolve the mismatch instead of creating another subscription to get past the screen.
Let the relevant account owner enter their own credentials; do not share passwords in a handoff message. Save the resulting transfer or account confirmation without capturing credentials or payment details. Avoid running two competing transfer attempts simply because the first does not finish immediately.
Know what moves and what does not
Netflix lists history, recommendations, My List and several preferences among the transferred fields, while payment information is excluded. Its instructions distinguish copying to a new or existing account from moving to an extra-member slot, and explain separate games-data handling (Netflix Help). Consult that list for the precise destination limits.
Write down which of those fields matters to the recipient. A household might care most about the next episode, while another viewer relies on language preferences or a long saved list. Those priorities form the acceptance check; a successful sign-in alone does not show that the viewing state is useful.
Verify before cleaning up
Sign into the destination and check My List, three recent series, Continue Watching positions, language/subtitle settings, maturity restrictions, and any important game save. Change the password and recovery details as appropriate for the new account owner.
Only then consider cleaning up the old profile through the permitted account controls. If anything is missing or the transfer remains incomplete, keep the source intact and use the matching help instructions. Manage an old subscription separately through its biller: a profile operation is not evidence that future billing stopped.
Keep the dated activity export until the destination has been stable long enough to trust. Profile Transfer carries the fields Netflix specifies; it is not a promise that unrelated account settings, billing, plan entitlements, or title availability follow to a different household or country.

How this develops the original research
Choose the destination first, back up activity, follow Netflix's transfer branch, and verify the copied state before deleting anything.
